LYRICS
Standing outside
after I hit my dog
In shame I ask,
“How did I end up here?”

When I was young
I was a dancer
When I was young
I had no fear

Then at age 3
someone started to hit me
I was so helpless
and I wouldn’t cry

Something then turned
into God-knows-what in me
It was if my heart
was so far from my hands

Soon at 13,
I was a drinker
As I grew tall
I became mean

And at 25
I was a thinker
Thinking I was
something perfect and clean

And yet in my heart
I was so dirty
What was so wrong?
How did I end up me?

‘Cuz when I was young
I was a dancer
When I was young
I had no fear

Here I became
all that I never wanted
Standing in shame
Over a helpless dog

But I won’t remain
Yes, I was a dancer
I slowly change
The small things within

And as I gain sight
I see some that are like me
Hurt when we’re small
That anger still tall

And yet we can talk
of the darkness and worry
Now we can walk
Away from the flame

Cuz when we were young
We were all dancers
When we were young
We had no fear

  1. C'est très beau comme chanson 🎶 bel voix emotive et une émouvante confession et vision des blessures.
